Dear Mr. Credi:

I am writing in regard to your gift to the White Plains Public Library of a subscription to the Washington Report on Middle East Affairs. As I told you, the library's policy (copy enclosed) is that the decision to add or not to add gifts to the library's collection is at the discretion of the library staff.

The library's periodicals committee has examined this magazine and discussed it and evaluated it in relation to our collection and needs, and the consensus was not to add this title. We already have a subscription to Middle East Policy (formerly American Arab Affairs), which is indexed in standard magazine indexes and therefore of long term use.

We appreciate your interest in our library and your generosity in making such a gift, but perhaps you could have the balance of our subscription transferred to another library.

Sincerely,

Nancy T. Young
