Bob's Final Reply

My reply about the Aswan Dam was meant to be a general reply. The sequence of events from the taking over of the Suez, the invasion by France, Britain and the U.S., THE REVOLT IN HUNGARY WHICH COINCIDED with the crisis, and the need for Western unity at the time ended with the U.S. refusing to lend the money to Egypt, and its turning to the Soviet Union for aid. I do not think that the tone of your friend's reply encourages me to debate with him. I was Secretary of the Institute of International Affairs, Foreign Editor of the Daily Gleaner, getting my Masters at Harvard during these events. I am relying on my memory of the events, not consulting written sources, because I lived through these events and wrote national editorials about them. I do not wish to continue the discussion with him. As I said before, if you hate the Jews they can only do wrong. The incidents I quoted, which in fact are all relevant, were meant to show that the Arabs oppress one another, without any reference to Israel. I seem to remember that every time the Arab League tried to meet, they had so many divisions that they got nowhere fast. Believe me, what I just read is only a confirmation of what I said. Thanks.

Bob.
